ABOUT THE PROCESS

In order to meet all the expectations of entities wishing to introduce the outsourcing of laboratory services, Diagnostyka has set up a department consisting of specialists dealing with the preparation of outsourcing projects and the implementation of such solutions in hospitals.

The department consists of managers, second level laboratory diagnostic specialists, laboratory diagnosticians, technicians, nurses, registrars and IT specialists who introduce modern organisational, economic and logistic solutions, as well as physicians responsible for liaising with the hospital and adjusting the content solutions to the specificity of the outsourcing unit.

The task of this department is to prepare solutions tailored to the specific characteristics of individual hospitals and to supervise the entire outsourcing process. The phases of this process are as follows:

  1. Gathering hospital-specific information – pre-implementation questionnaire to learn about the hospital structure and laboratory operation

  2. Preliminary design for the upgrade of the laboratory premises

  3. Calculation of the costs of running an outsourcing laboratory and preparation of a proposal the Hospital Management

  4. Acceptance of the Proposal by the Hospital Management

  5. The process of restructuring and transforming the hospital laboratory into a laboratory run by an external company. The process takes between one and three months.

  6. A series of training sessions among the staff to be taken over and the doctors and nurses employed at the hospital. The training includes:

    • operation of a test ordering system and barcoding of tubes
    • use of a vacuum blood collection system
    • use of Diagnostyka Software together with the Diagnostyka View and Diagnostyka Intranet applications for doctors
    • there is a specialist available to the hospital staff for training in the ordering and collection of material for tests, always a certified nurse qualified to collect material for tests
  7. Post-implementation survey of hospital staff to verify and summarise the overall implementation study.
